I have always been a problem sleeper. Even as a baby I had a frantic nature which meant I never seemed to sleep properly and it drove my parents nuts. This issue really came to a head in recent years as I developed into a national representative swimmer who has also had to juggle the training with full time study in Law and Commerce and working towards admission as a Solicitor.
Quite simply I don’t get much free time at all, and a good night’s sleep is essential for me to tackle the challenges I face every day. Unfortunately, being as busy as I am means that often times it can be very difficult to “switch off”, relax and get the rest I need. Further, this problem had a tendency to escalate at the worst possible times, for example, the night before a major race. And as soon as you fear being unable to sleep, which believe me can happen a lot, the battle is already lost.
Being someone who has always had sleep problems I was initially skeptical of the benefit I may derive from a “sleep CD” given I had already tried plenty of relaxation techniques. I believe the problem with these other techniques is that you can fall into the trap of thinking too much – “Is this working.... Why isn’t this working?” The fear of no sleep becomes a self fulfilling prophesy. In these cases I would find myself awake at 4am despite my best efforts to relax.
I guess the hitch is in what I just said – “trying to relax”. It is a contradiction in terms.
It has been extremely fortunate for me then to have come across Doctor Flynn and his revolutionary sleep aid techniques. The beauty of Doctor Flynn’s approach is in the simplicity of it all. You don’t have to “think” - at least not with the part of your brain that will trip you up analysing things. Just lie back, listen and let the Doctor Flynn do all the work. You’ll be amazed as I was at just how effective the techniques are.
I cannot express in words just how grateful I am to Doctor Flynn for his help except to say that I now “enjoy” sleep. The results I get in this regard flow on to all aspects of my waking life as I am more refreshed and able to tackle all of life’s challenges.
